Balboa Park's Plaza de Panama, 1915
Great News! This is an excerpt from Mayor Sanders' State of the City speech 1/13/2010:

"And tomorrow we begin work on a plan to remodel the Plaza de Panama in the heart of Balboa Park. It was built for the 1915 Exposition as a grand ceremonial plaza for the public. Over time it was transformed into a grand ceremonial parking lot for cars. We will reclaim that plaza for ourselves and posterity before the park’s centennial celebration in 2015. And in doing so, we will celebrate a moment that’s a century in our past."

Thank you, Mayor Sanders!
